Biography

Sister Valerie was born and raised in Pittsburgh—As a Sister of St. Joseph, Baden, PA, she ministered as an administrator in an elementary and high school.  She worked in youth and young adult ministry in a parish and is currently Vocation Ministry Coordinator for the Sisters of St. Joseph, as well as Volunteer Coordinator for Casa San Jose. Sr. Valerie has a masters degree in Counselor Education and a post graduate certificate in Christian Spirituality and Spiritual Direction. —As a Sister of St. Joseph, she has a passion for working and living with those most in need, some call this the “marginalized.” Outside of ministry work, she enjoy walks in nature, music, reading, and water coloring.
