Biography

A native of Medellin, Colombia, Sandra obtained her degree in bacteriology and completed graduate specializations in Cancer, HIV, and cardiovascular disease in the pharmaceutical field. She worked extensively in the pharmaceutical industry educating and treating patients with cardiovascular and terminal diseases in Colombia. In Pittsburgh, she had the opportunity to work in a program that supervises unaccompanied refugee minors, where she protected them and fostered their safety and well-being during the family reunification process. This experience reassured Sandra of the importance of supporting immigrant families so they and their families can have a better quality of life. To her, Casa San Jose is a pillar that supports and unites immigrants and their families.
