Originally from Boston, MA, Emma Larrabee moved to Pittsburgh in 2017 to attend the University of Pittsburgh. This year she will complete her final year as a Bachelor’s in Social Work student with a minor in Spanish and a Global Studies certificate in Peace, Conflict and Security.
After high school Emma spent a year in Washington, DC as a City Year Americorps member. She worked in a third-grade math classroom and ran the kindergarten afterschool class, helping to bridge the gap between what students need and deserve and what the school was able to provide.
Emma passionately believes in the exceptional resiliency and strength of individuals and communities and sees these qualities as the key drivers in social changes and the fight against injustices. As an ISAC intern she looks forward to working collaboratively with members of the Casa community and connecting people to services and resources. Emma is excited to learn more about the Latinx community in Pittsburgh and about Casa’s action against injustice.
