Elizabeth Giglia – Intern

Elizabeth Giglia is from the DC area, specifically northern Virginia, and she is a student at Duquesne University. She is majoring in English Literature with two minors in Spanish and Business Studies. She graduated in December of 2020 and will be going right into Duquesne’s Master’s program for Literature. Before working with Casa San Jose, she had a lot of volunteering experience with her church; she has gone on mission trips every year to Tennessee, and for the last two years she has had the pleasure of helping to run it. She heard about Casa San Jose through her university’s career center and after learning about what their mission and visions are, she knew she wanted to help be a part of it. Though her major is literature, she really wants to work in the humanitarian field after she graduates and help share her love of books and education with others. She shared, “Casa San Jose has already taught me so much about how to build a compassionate and welcoming community. They have really shown me what it means to love your work and work for what you love and I hope to bring that energy and kindness into all of my future humanitarian work that I do.”
