Biography

Brenda is originally from Mexico City, Mexico. She has lived in Pittsburgh for over 25 years, so she knows the community well. She has always had a passion for community outreach and art. She majored in art when she attended CAPA and later became a muralist for a center in Beechview. She attended Carlow University and majored in Child Development Psychology with a minor in Sociology and Art History. Brenda grew up having a passion for art and wanting to help the community. Her passion grew when she discovered the food photography scene while working for small Latino businesses around the city. She has been able to combine the two here at Casa working as our Communications Specialist in designing all of our graphics, flyers, and using her photography skills. Brenda loves to go on long walks with her son and dog , visiting museums/new art exhibits, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
