Action alert for Amigos de Casa San José

Dear Amigos,
  • We need a few people to represent Casa and greet people and/or do voter registration this Saturday the 15th at Latino Day at Kennywood from 10-12 or from 12-2.  It comes with a free ticket for the day!  If you are interested, please contact roye.werner@gmail.com ASAP. Indicate the shift you can do, and whether you’re interested in registering voters, which involves a little training.
  • We have just heard that the Trump administration has proposed a regulation that will permit children crossing the border with their parents to be put into detention indefinitely.  More information is here in this New York Times editorial, “Don’t Let Migrant Kids Rot.
    • There is a quick, easy, and very important action that anyone can do:  Please protest these cruel new regulations by submitting your concern on the Federal Register’s request for public comments – go to https://www.regulations.gov and enter DHS Docket No. ICEB-2018-0002.  We want to flood the comment board with our objections to this continuing persecution of immigrant families.
Thank you for your support!
