Sister Janice Vanderneck from Casa San Jose states in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette condemning the second vandalization in less than 6 months of a Latino owned store. “We must stand together and collectively condemn all forms of hate, racism, discrimination and aggression toward members of our community. As a group of Latino organizations, we believe that the action of spray painting hateful graffiti over the mural on a Latino-owned store should be denounced. We want to say together to Pittsburghers that your Latino neighbors are here to contribute. We are here as families, professionals, students, business owners, service workers and neighbors. We want to contribute to the development and sustainability of Pittsburgh; we should all work together to build our city.”
