Pittsburgh City Paper Writes in Response to Trump’s Immigration Orders


The Pittsburgh City Paper’s article entitled “In response to Trump’s immigration orders, more than 700 Pittsburghers protest between Jan. 28-29” focuses on Pittsburgher’s responses to President Donald Trump’s radical changes to U.S. immigration policies. Casa San Jose’s Community Organizer, Monica Ruiz, said in reaction to Trump’s new changes “We might have been born somewhere else, but we are Pittsburgh residents. We make Pittsburgh great.”

The article goes on to analyze political realities in regards to elected officials and how certain officials such as Pennsylvania Republican Senator Pat Toomey have reacted to Trump’s travel ban.
